Friday Morning Music – A – Z

Every week we kick off your Friday with a series of videos, loosely gathered around a theme. This week, to celebrate the humble zipper, we stay at the end of the alphabet and celebrate musicians Z.

Frank Zappa – City of Tiny Lights

A musical genius barely tethered to this world, Zappa was a virtuoso guitar player, a dynamic and engaging composer, a bluesy singer, and the freakiest guy in any room. He was also a passionate and eloquent voice for freedom, who testified against musical censorship and parentalism. We may never see his like again.

The Zombies – Time of The Season

Let’s continue the psychedelic freak out with some good old English blues-based grooves.

Jay-Z -Allure (Ratatat Remix)

Oh, Hov. The original verson of this song is fantastically, magnificently, world-crushingly bad. Ratatat steps in and saves it. Oh hey, Biggie, sorry you’re dead. You were great.

Zero 7 – In The Waiting Line

I’ve written before about how much Garden State sucks. But dammit, that soundtrack was pretty tight. This song by the British downtempo masters always puts me in a good mood.
